Description I could choose to do anything I wanted for a school project, so naturally I chose to burn ponies!

The canvas section is made out of hoop pine and the frame is made of black walnut.
The actual design of both Spitfire and Soarin' were wood-burned using a pyropen while the clouds, trails, irises, goggles and the filling on the bony part of the wings and wing linings were created with light teak stainer.

This all took around 3 months of non-stop work and hassling my woodwork teacher to let me keep working on it during lunches and after school. I hope you guys like it.
Credit for the original artwork goes to sophiecabra.deviantart.com I absolutely     her work!
I did draw the picture freehand so naturally there are a few differences and the wings are my specific way of drawing wings. Hope you like it!

Oh! And I got posted on Equestria Daily, here's the link:

I can't remember but I think it was around 70cm x 50cm. I wish I could check for you but it's all boxed up for when I move.

wow, that is huge... One bad thing about pyrography is that most of the people don't realize how much work, concentration and patience it takes.

True, though luckily for me when I was displaying it at an exhibition night most of the parents remembered doing it in their woodwork classes and were amazed by it. Also I think I got some year 7 kids wanting to do it. But it was honestly really fun to make, especially with music!

Well when I was a vendor for the first time people asked me if it's painted or machine made  so I've made some time-lapse videos to show them how it is working, few are in description of my pieces if you like to see them

Wow, you're pretty talented.  How did you do this without making a mistake?  And why did you have to 'hassle' your teacher to even do it?  Was it not allowed?

There were actually a few mistakes, I just covered them up . And I was actually hassling him because I wasn't allowed to use the woodwork rooms without teacher supervision, so he had to give up a bunch of his lunchtimes.
