OKAY GUYS! Here is my new pride and joy, my Sorceress Edea from Final Fantasy VIII cosplay! My boyfriend and I decided to do Edea and Seifer one day, because we cosplay Squall and Rinoa, and how cool would it be to do their polar opposites? I am absolutely in love with how this costume turned out. It was worth all the blood, sweat, and tears that went into it! This fantastic photo was taken by Mike Boike at Anime Matsuri 2010, where with these costumes, Score and I won Best Advanced Walkon! Trust me, there are plenty more photos to come!------

I am unfamiliar with Final Fantasy beyond a few let's play videos and Rikku (Yes I know I'm going to hell). So I am unfamiliar with this character but damn that's an impressive costume.

Omg, this is amazing! The "wings" (I don't know the name of it ._.) are so well done, too. If your boyfriend do that 3th outfit of Squall, you guys would be so "new-costumes" from Duodecim! I want to make the new one of Terra someday.

I'm not even kidding, you just made my jaw drop. I'm always excited to see your new cosplays, but seeing one of my favourite cosplayers not only cosplay Edea, but do her so much justice has just made my day. You really have done her exceptionally well and I don't think you could have done anything better on this one. I really can't wait to see some photos of Score's Seifer as well! Your Edea really is incredible. Well done for this one, you look amazing.
Do you mind if I ask you a couple of questions about this? I'm not going to ask for a full length tutorial, don't worry haha. I was just wondering about the materials that you used for the backpiece and headpiece. I lost motivation for my own Edea this year because I was unsure about how to go about those two parts. For the backpiece I considered wood, but I figured that would come out a bit flat and flop because of the weight. Your backpiece has such a nice effect to it, so I was just wondering how to go about recreating that. The headpiece I started out as paper mache (by guidance of my friends...) and they were planning on attaching fimo clay for all the details to it, but I don't see that working haha XD The other option I thought of was the same process, but perhaps with a swimming cap?
