I like the outcome, but since this is kind of old some of the effects are at different locations, for example I can't find the 'Color to Alpha' option in PS CS4, it's a pity...
And ctrl+k gets you to Preferences...
Could you please tell me what's the new keys/locations or update this? >.<

I'm sorry everyone! I can not find the old C4D I used or the render.
I would suggest going to planet renders (google)
or Game Renders.

Incandescent map is just one of the colors you can pick when doing a Gradient map.

do you think the "throwing in cd4s to add blendage" would work also with brushes?

Yes, but be careful because brushes tend to make it look Low Quality if you use them too much.
