Description On 7th November, 1554, the army of Suleyman the Great tried to fight Tihany and Csobánc, strongholds of the Hungarian forces, but failed. But they ruined the monastery of "Kőkút sacre Maria Magdalene" monastery that located between the two strongholds. It was the end of this secluded monastery that never could recover and slowly fall to the erosion and stone-hungry people of the nearby settlements. The church on this image is the better built and better preserved part, with brick enforcments from 1960s and early 2000s.

Please don't siege, occupy, capture, torture, edit, blog, reblog, share and usurp this image. This is my work, and it is exactly as I wanted it. Sometimes I am quite reasonable and very rarely behead other deviants (not as the armies of the 16th c.)

Absolutely! It was on my bucket list for ages and it was really good to get there in November when hikers and tourists are sipping hot tea at home Being there alone is both a spiritual experience and really frightful because the forest is very silent there—but a blackbird, great tit or a cuckoo ocassionally make the woods or dry leaves crack and it sounds in the deep silence as a slap It really took a minute or two to realize what's going on, what's the noise
