Description
On 7th November, 1554, the army of Suleyman the Great tried to fight Tihany and Csobánc, strongholds of the Hungarian forces, but failed. But they ruined the monastery of "Kőkút sacre Maria Magdalene" monastery that located between the two strongholds. It was the end of this secluded monastery that never could recover and slowly fall to the erosion and stone-hungry people of the nearby settlements. The church on this image is the better built and better preserved part, with brick enforcments from 1960s and early 2000s.
