Description Does anybody know who is this? Thanks to Erdbeersternchen for identifying this Aglais io or European peacock butterfly. Don't forget to visit her marvellous gallery , she has amazing pictures!

On Sunday (17th March, 2019) the first sunny, warm spring day there was a great traffic on the flowers of my favourite viburnum×bodnantense bush. Considering the flowers' main purpose I may say it was an extremely busy orgy there. One of the participants posed for this picture but I did not understand the name. (I always thought that peacock is a bird. That's biology for you...)

This image is my own work. Please don't use, hire, rent, lend, sell, tear, rickroll or nick it. This picture is copyrighted. If you have to use it, let's say as a drawing reference, ask me—I am fairly often a nice guy.

Please respect the model! You may download this image for your personal, non-commercial use as a wallpaper or screensaver. Paid downloads and prints include the high resolution, watermark-free version.

It was a fine and patient model, stood on the same flower for quite a long time but turned its wings sometimes the wrong way... Some practice will turn it a real star!

Instead of eyes, the wings look like olives.
