This portrait of her husband and daughter commissioned by the lovely @fiorellaannoni was a treat to draw! Drawing a portrait feels so much more fulfilling when you're doing it for someone you admire a lot and are given all the time and creative freedom you could ask for.
It felt good to detail the stubble using dots and to keep the shading gentle to match the overall feel of the artwork. My favourite part about this portrait, as with all portraits, was detailing the hair. Drawing for Fiorella always makes me draw flowers. Makes sense, with how her name means a little flower. I like how the sunflower fits right into this bright and warm composition.
