That's neat!! I am going as her as well!! Ever since I saw the film I fell in love with her char. Let me tell you, it was a tough decision between her and Elsa since I love them both! But in the end it was Maleficent who won. There's something about her that draws you in, it's like she's so mysterious and yet so beautiful at the same time. It's weird but in a good way. My mom kinda influenced my decison because she was like "Well everyone else is going to be Elsa, you need to be different and go as Maleficent". I didn't disagree with her, but "Frozen" is kinda on a popularity streak right now and for me to be Elsa is kinda feeding the obession. Don't get me wrong, I love "Frozen" and Elsa but Maleficent is so mysical and haunting that I thought being her is a better fit for Halloween. I still may be Elsa next year when "Frozen" mania has died down and the demand for Elsa dresses are not as big as it is now.

Empowered! that's it! Maleficent is a character who is empowered, much much more so than Elsa, because Elsa fears her own power. Maleficent is a real disney bad-ass. just look at the coronation scene; Maleficent SWAGGERS in, all wrapped up in black leather, and every single person there, especially the king, looks ready to piss their pants at the sight of her, and she is just LOVING it! And the wickedest thing is that she is so totally cool about. She is all-powerful and terrifying, and she KNOWS it!

Yeah, and you can't deny that there's something extremely attractive about the dark side to her character: she's a powerful good fairy who goes bad because the one she loved the most betrayed her, so she TAKES power over her fairy world and devotes her life to making him suffer. Who wouldn't wanna go there? XD
Elsa is a more withdrawn character; she isolates herself from the whole world because she fears becoming a danger. I'd say she's more "cowardly" but that's too harsh, especially since ibeen here (the self-induced isolation part, but for different reasons).

I can understand the self-isolation part that's why I can feel like I relate more to Elsa than I do Maleficent. Obviously, not because of any powers that I have may cause harm to anyone but just because sometimes I feel like no one else understands and there are only certian parts of myself that I will tell to certian people but the rest of myself is reserved. I am a very shy person, if you know me in real life; however, I am not as shy on the internet. And that may be for just about anyone though. Like Elsa is scared of being the person she is meant to be, I am at times afraid to just let loose and be myself. Like I always have to put on another face for my parents, another face for my friends, another face for my coworkers, another face for anyone else. But by the end of the movie, she came to finally find acceptance for herself and that's when everyone started accepting her for who she is.
