Day 18
Location: Alpas Island gun battery - I10
Another ordinary day as the group trudged along through the tropical paradise. Today they'd headed south to investigate one of the gun batteries down there.
“Hey what's that?” Mitchell asked as he trotted closer to the cliff.
Philip’s gaze followed where the teen was pointing. A small figure could be seen over the water. “I think that's a boat.”
“But not one of the ferries,” he commented.
“No,” Philip agreed. “Not too surprising that other boats sail these waters, though.”
“Funny, it doesn't seem to be sailing.”
“Fishing perhaps?”
Mitchell shrugged. “Can't tell. Did you bring the binoculars?”
The young man shook his head. “We haven't been using them, so I stopped bringing them. They weren't worth the weight.”
“Shame,” muttered the boy, looking back out over the water.
Philip grinned, “Probably just some locals anyway, you snoop. Come on, let's get back to the real reason we're here, searching for dogs?”
Turning around, Mitchell grinned. “Maybe you should tell the girls that.”
“Huh?” he turned Mistletoe around to see Cherry stalking a lizard, Sophie close on her tail, nose to the ground. The man chuckled, calling out, “Cherry, Sophie, come.”
The dogs’ heads shot up, a moment passing before they bolted towards the man.
“Good girls. Now find!”
With tails wagging the pair darted off, noses to the ground in search of more abandoned Wilties.

“Hey what's that?” Mitchell asked as he trotted closer to the cliff.
