Description The Four Directions
Standard of the Emperor of Zaqo, Retainer Era
National Flag of the Councildom of Arantar

The National Flag of the Empire of Mirukuz was a green banner with silver corners and a golden centre, each of which has an animal at the centre of each box: the gryphon, the star-horse, the sunbird, and the raptor, with another larger gryphon at the centre. The colour scheme used for this flag was based on the usage of green as a cultural colour for the Vozonids and the attire of Sarmelonid Emperors: green (emerald) for inspiration, gold for righteousness, and silver (obsidian) for honour.

МІРУКУЗ

The Empire of Mirukuz (Vozonid: "Unicorn", named after the nearly-extinct unicorn herds that grazed there) was a state founded during the early years of the Zaqovian dynasty on Vozolaz, when a certain prince was crowned by the locals as their Emperor instead of the Zaqovian Emperors who were lackeys to the Thralondian Empire to the further east. Its terrain mostly consists of sandy desert, with arid scrubland along the northwestern hills and some wetlands around the major rivers and the southwest. Thousands of years ago in the Sarmelonid era, that region was the main centre of Konjor activity on the Vozonid imperial heartland, boasting attractions such as the infamous Sawerzan Resort and its abusive conditions.

It spent much of its earlier years on building its forces and launching raids against Zaqo to reunify Vozolaz under its Green Emperors' reigns, but many of those wars ended with only some controlled districts and a spent economy. Criminal groups that fled other countries flocked into Mirukuz, where they overthrew its monarchy and clashed for control until one powerful group asserted itself as the new monarchs of Mirukuz.

The changed economy under the crime lords was propped up by slavery and funds from the Tornarin Empire, who used Mirukuz to seize Vozolaz (or Zaqo) from the Thralondian Empire's influence. Its slavery -- a method fuelled by needing more numbers after wars and disasters and to make itself look superior -- was notorious for its extreme brutality, torturing thousands of human and non-human (especially the hated Ontemazei) slaves for its clients' twisted pleasures. Eventually, it fuelled several revolts, from the Rakolan protests that ended in a massacre, to a bigger slave revolt that instead had many survivors escape to neighbouring Bīvos, and the Trimalleans' brutal takeover.

When the Trimalleans dominated its neighbours, the Mirkuzians faced poorer living conditions as their society was focused more on the War in Honvo. Attempts to evict locals from the Arvonnoz Hills into cramped apartments in the big cities infuriated the locals, who organised a fourth revolt that overthrew their Trimallean rulers a few years later. They later established Mirukuz as a republic, and it became one of several constituent states of the Federal Republic of Azgo (later Vozolaz).

Yay! Vozonid unicorn empire at last <333333333

It feels like... similarly to Ajoltar you had some inspiration from Singapore? I mean the emigration stuff.

Also- the star horse looks very vicious in this depiction. At first I thought that maybe those aren't the four directions because instead of ponyta we got a phoenix and instead of DD we got a hog-horse but I must say that there is some brutish charm in that hog-horse <3

Also... why are you so into flags? What made you interested in making them instead of something different?

Yes, but Mirukuz was inspired perhaps by Tatooine and slums.

I like flags because they are easier to make, and their flashy images sometimes inspire me.

BTW, Mirukuz was infamous for abducting many people from other countries to work as slaves, its rule under criminal groups, and its business in filming prisoners being killed in various horrific methods (e.g. electrocution, dancing with being electrocuted).

And that kind of entertainment via torture caused the people of Mirukuz to become miserable, that the slaves tried to fight back and overthrow its government of crime lords. The other countries would sometimes try to assist the revolutionaries, although some would instead impose their authority in Mirukuz, given the chance ...
