Description (Fifer's POV)

I trot Obsidian back to his stall and dismount, heading to the tack room with his tack and returning with a brush, returning that to its proper place soon after.

His velvety muzzle brushes my palm as he takes the apple I had sitting in the barn office. "That's a good boy." I lean my face into his thick black neck, inhaling his equine scent. "See ya later, Obbie." Obsidian presses his muzzle into my cheek, nickering his good bye, and then sinks his nose into his water bucket, the top of his nostrils just visible above the water line. I leave the barn quiet and shadowed behind me and head back to Obsidian House.

Out in the yard, Byron observes the Host Club playing a game of kick the can, narrowly dodging the can as it comes crashing down. He carries it over to the only tree in the front yard and hunches over it to count as everyone else runs to hide.

Kyoya is the first to notice me. He raises a brow, but nods at me when I put a finger to my lips, a small smirk pulling the corners of his mouth up. The bespectacled male ducks behind the manor, the thick bushes planted there providing ample cover.

I, rather than hide, stay put, having so far gone unnoticed by everyone but Kyoya. I lean against the manor, just off to my right, and wait for someone else to notice me.

"Fife-chan!" Honey, seated on Mori's shoulders, quietly calls down to me. "You and Obbie-chan were great!" He smiles at me cutely, and after a nod from Mori, the two head off to find a spot to hide.

I shake my head and settle in to wait for everyone else to discover me.

"Hey!" Two whispered voices call behind me.

I turn slightly to be able to see the twins. "Yes?"

"When did you get here?" They tilt their heads, amusement and curiosity on identical faces.

"Just a minute ago. Shhh!" I put my fingers to my lips, asking them for their silence, too. "We can't have everyone knowing right off the bat, now, can we?"

Hikaru and Kaoru sport mischievous grins as they disappear around the corner, seeking their hiding spot. I turn back around, waiting to be further discovered. It's a waiting game for four, as Byron is still counting and I spotted Tamaki dragging Haruhi to the barn.

The barn? Crap!

I push off of the house and run back to the shadow-shrouded building, hoping and praying they entered from the pasture gate.

(Kyoya's POV)

A soft breeze billows through the branches of the bushes I've taken refuge behind as Fifer rushes back to the barn. I crawl partially out from behind the foliage, puzzled.

'She just got back. Why go back inside the barn?' I have my answer when an ear-splitting whistle breaks the silence. Haruhi and Tamaki's startled cries sound shortly after, prompting another whistle.

I jump out from my hiding spot, abandoning the game, and follow Fifer to the barn. The others all emerge from their spots and do the same. Byron runs at a break neck pace, quickly passing us by.

By the time we all get there, Fifer has entered Obsidian's stall, the black horse dancing around her as she murmurs to him quietly. His ears flick toward her, catching her soft voice, then flick away uncertainly.

Haruhi and Tamaki stand pressed into an empty stall, watching Fifer as she works to calm her frenzied horse. Byron holds a hand across the doorway, barring entrance, the slow shake of his head warning us not to cross.

Ear piercing whistles soon turn to quiet nickers as Fifer stands, unmoving, in her horse's stall. A small step forward brings her toe to toe with the big stallion, who snorts, but holds his ground. Fifer, a tiny shape in the gloom, raises her hand and slips it under Obsidian's halter, all the while murmuring quietly to the equine. Obsidian sighs, a quiet whoosh of air sounding from his chest, and lowers his muzzle.

"Good boy." Fifer cups her horse's nose, stroking his neck and face. "Good boy." She turns her attention to Haruhi and Tamaki, her horse now calm. "Sorry, you guys, I just got back and haven't really had time to warn you about Obbie. He doesn't really like strangers or people he hardly knows in his barn." She strokes her horse's face one last time before stepping out of his stall and shutting the door behind her. "I'm just glad you didn't decide to go into his stall."

"We shouldn't have been here without you or Byron-senpai, anyway." Haruhi jabs Tamaki in the ribs, addressing Fifer but glaring at the blond. "Sorry about spooking him."

Fifer smiles pleasantly. "It's alright, no damage done."

Byron nods. "And now that you're back, we can discuss camp." He looks pointedly at his sister.

"Oh, yeah!" Tamaki drags Haruhi out into the aisle, more excited about the camp than anyone else. "Tell us about camp, Byron!"

"Yeah, tell us!" Hikaru and Kaoru perch on the brunette's shoulders, one on each side.

"Alright, alright!" Byron laughs, shaking the twins off of him. "You've waited long enough!" He shakes his head and looks at all of us. "Well..."
