In fact, Faye harboured a crush on her from first sight, especially after they stopped being enemies and started being friends. Of course, Faye could never bring herself to tell her until The Vault, at which point it seemed wildly inappropriate...and not long after that was the journey to Azys Lla...

For added tragedy, the major reason Faye never got the nerve was that she had a crush on both Ysayle AND Haurchefant, and never reconciled with the fact that she loved them both EQUALLY, thus dithering whenever she tried to get up the nerve for a love confession.
