Description

Graduation Ceremony

On the fateful morning of that long-awaited day,
the student body of Hoshizora High gathered in the campus auditorium.

Crisp and fresh in their full uniforms, the seniors stood in rows,
with the juniors and freshmen behind them. In less than two hours, everything will change.

The three speeches thus commenced -- congratulating the seniors, with the best of wishes.
One by one, the seniors were called up to receive their certificates...

It was the very last day of high school.

The Principal's Speech

The Board of Directors, honoured teachers and staff,
esteemed guests, students and families. I am the principal of Hoshizora High.
Welcome to our Seniors’ Graduation Ceremony of this year.

It is with great pleasure I give my heartfelt congratulations to the graduating classes,
all of which have achieved spectacular results for university acceptances. To all the wonderful students,
I am truly proud to have been able to serve as your principal.

The principal took a moment to list some top-tier universities from Japan,
and also overseas, that have granted acceptances to the seniors.

It is amazing to see how far you have came throughout these years, and I am sure that
you will continue to succeed in anything you wish to achieve. After this ceremony, each of you will
graduate from your senior year, and become an alumni of Hoshizora High.

I wish you all the best in the days to come. If eventually you decide to pursue a career in the
astronomical field, please do not hesitate to reach out to our school again.

To the juniors, it will soon be your turn to shine! We look forward to what you have to show.
I have faith in you that you will achieve wonderful results, as did the seniors of this year.

Now, I shall pass the microphone to our Head Teacher, Sasaki Daisuke-sensei.

Principal, Board of Directors, fellow teachers and staff,
guests and the stars of this show - students, and also greetings extended to their families.

I’m not one for long winded speeches, though I must say on this occasion, it is hard not to.
We have gone through turbulent times together, whether or not directly or otherwise.
As a teacher, it assures me that no matter what curveball life throws at you,
you will catch it and hit a homerun instead of striking out.

To all the seniors -- before you leave the compounds of this school for good, always remember
the experiences that you have gained here, for they will prove valuable in the future. Most importantly,
I stress, to remember the friends you have made. No matter whether you are best friends,
or if you never got along -- you will not see them passing by your classroom windows anymore,
nor will you again inevitably meet each other in the hallways, the dining halls, or when you run for sports.

The most important things given to you, are the memories you made here upon the grounds of this school.
Remember too, those who are not with us now. Remember them fondly,
and keep their memories safe as you move on.

Despite the quiet, he lets out his signature laugh.

Hahahaha! Let us not forget the happiest thing to look forward to -- for all the senior boys in the dormitory --
you shall no longer hear my gentle gong ringing sweetly into your ears at 7 a.m. in the morning!

Seniors, it may well be the last time we will ever meet again. I would like to take the opportunity
to let you know that it had been an honour to be your teacher. Congratulations to you,
with the well wishes of the whole teaching staff, we bid you all a fond farewell!

Good morning, everyone. I am Suzu Nami, president of the Student Council.

First of all, I’d like to start by saying how much of an honor it is to speak in front of you today.
When I graduated from junior high, I decided to join Hoshizora High. It eventually proved to be one of
the best decisions I’ve made, as I have not only learned more than I imagined, but have also
met some the most wonderful and inspirational people here, in this school.

I believe we all can agree, that everyone has not only been a friend, but we have also been like a family.

This year, we have all experienced some memorable times together. Together we learned a lot of things,
together we had fun and exciting moments. Together, we pulled through the harsh and difficult times.
I believe, however, rather than having those tough times break us, we have only let them make us stronger.
It is with appreciation of these hardships that we grow. With that, I would like to offer a moment of silence,
for the two dear students we have lost, and will always miss dearly. Please, join me.

A minute of silence passes.

… Thank you.

Through the good times and the bad, I believe we will always find something to remember fondly of,
to carry it with us throughout our lives. And now that the seniors are leaving us -- flying towards
their next destination -- I sincerely wish you all, on behalf of the whole student body, a safe trip ahead.

It has been a true honour to witness such an amazing year of senior students.
Although I will miss each and one of you dearly, I know that if you continue to do your best,
you will go on to achieve incredible things.

And never forget, you can always find home in Hoshizora High.
