A second cousin! I used plugins="elliptic splits"
xform 01 “linear3D, disc”
xform 02 “cylinder, elliptic”
xform 03 “hyperbolic, julian, splits”
finalxform “loonie”
The spiral was "flattened" quite a lot before applying the final transform.

Very nice loonie with a strong glass look to it! Thanks for the link. I'm setting a watch so I can catch your work.
