Description Back in World War II, the secret science/military division known as Hydra, begun a power play to shift the tide of the war. To combat them, the US military began drafting every able-bodied man available, with the exception of the young and frail Steve Rogers. Despite being repeatedly rejected by every drafting boards in the US, Steve's fighting spirit and desire to serve his country remains strong and, as a result, was chosen for a top secret program titled "Project: REBIRTH" headed by Dr. Abraham Erskine. After having the experimental Super Soldier serum injected into his systems and being bombarded with vita-rays, Steve Rogers was transformed into the US's 1st Super Soldier. Sadly, he would also be the US's only Super Soldier, as Dr. Erskine was killed by an undercover Hydra agent before his own death.

Despite the serum working, Colonel Chester Phillips was not happy, due to him wanting an army, and initially planned to keep Steve locked in a laboratory before Steve was assigned the role of US Posterboy, where he inspires the US to do their part for the war effort under the stage name "Captain America". During these short stints, he befriends Howard Stark, who made the simple badge shaped shield for him, and Agent Peggy Carter, who he had met prior to becoming a Super Soldier.

One day, Steve learned that Hydra have captured many soldiers and civilians in the area and enlisted Howard and Peggy's aid in rescuing everyone, with Howard provided an slightly improved uniform and Peggy dropping Steve at the target location. Swiping a few vital info along the way, Steve managed to rescue all the captured victims from Hydra's imprisonment, one of which is the young soldier James "Bucky" Barnes, who aided Steve in destroying the installation. Because of Steve's successful mission, Colonel Phillips sanctioned an elite commando unit officially under the command of Captain America.

Along with Bucky as his partner, Captain assembled the likes of Dum Dum Dugan, Pinky Pinkerton,  Gabe Jones,  Happy Sam Sawyer, Jim Morita, and many more under the unit name "the Howling Commandos" known to their enemies as "the Invaders". With Howard as the team engneer/mechanic and Peggy as the unit spy/intelligent agent, Cap led his unit through several victories against Hydra, gaining many allies in the process, such as Jack Fury and James "Logan" Howlett, as well as helping various other nations and people, most noticeably King Chaka aka the Black Panther of Wakanda, who would gift the US a small sample of Vibranium.

Then, on one fateful mission, the Howling Commandos came face-to-face with the faces of Hydra: Baron Zemo of Hydra's Italy branch and the Red Skull, head of all of Hydra. The mission ended with many members of the unit either injured or dead and Captain America's shield being damaged, marking the very first failure of the Howling Commandos. Despite this, Steve refused to give in to doubt and inspired the rest of his unit to keep fighting. At that moment, Howard Start and Dr. Myron MacLain arrives with a gift for Captain America.

After receiving the Vibranium sample from Wakanda, MacLain got to work on his experimental metal alloy. Inspired by the legendary Adamantine in Hercule's Golden Mace, MacLain hoped that his metal alloy will give the allied forces the edge needed to win the war. However, because he had worked tirelessly on his experimental alloy that when he did fall asleep, an unknown factor caused the Vibranium and the experimental metal alloy, which he had dubbed "Proto-Adamantium", to bond. Although he was unable to replicate the process, Myron McLain managed to have the combined alloy made into a disc shaped shield.

The shield, which was later painted in red, white, & blue, was so gifted to Captain America for use in his next mission: Stopping Baron Zemo from unleashing a dangerous virus on the allied forces. With his new shield and the remainder of the Howling Commandos, Cap led the charge against Baron Zemo, destroying his Virus X and Zemo himself. With this victory, the Howling Commandos began to rally as they face other allies of Hydra and aid other nations before preparing for their ultimate mission: the Defeat of the Red Skull

With Germany's unconditional surrender expected, much of the US was ready to rejoice, but Captain America knew that the Red Skull won't surrender easily and is planning something that could allow Hydra to reign supreme. On May 5, 1945, Captain America led his Howling Commandos on one final mission, destroying much of Red Skull's lab in the process. However, after learning that the Red Skull is planning to bomb several major cities, including New York and Berlin, Cap and Bucky lept aboard the aircraft harboring the missiles. While on board, Captain America battled the Red Skull and it was believed that Skull perished in the battle, but in the process, one of the missles launched, prompting Cap and Bucky to leap on it and redirect it back to the aircraft. But before they could leap off, Bucky's leg got caught in some loose panels on the missile. Despite Steve's attempts to free him, Bucky felt that the world would still need Captain America more than him and knocked Steve off. The missle collided with the aircraft, creating a explosion that presumably killed Bucky and knocked Steve into the freezing waters of the Artic where he would fall into a state of suspended animation.

As the world celebrate VE Day, the remaining members of the Howling Commandos mourn the lost of Captain America and Bucky. The Howling Commando continued to serve the US, with many leaving the group in the process, before officially disbanding in 1946. During the 1950's, the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division, aka S.H.I.E.L.D., was soon founded by Peggy Carter, Howard Stark, Dum Dum Dugan, and Jack Fury in order to continue protecting the US from various terrist organizations.

But, all the while, Steve Rogers continues to sleep until his awakening in 2010's.

Sorry for the long bio above, but since this (more or less) my own version of Captain America, I felt it was required. In any case, here's my version of Captain America during WWII. His outfit, much like the bio above, has elements from his original comic book, the Ultimate stories, the MCU, and various cartoons. This is the 1st sprite project I've done that use the LSWR2 sprites by   ssjstorm18. Other variants (such as the custom Avengers uniform, Captain Hydra, and the Captain) as well as Sharon Carter/Miss America, John Walker/US Agent, and various DBZ characters & OCs will be worked on/finished later on.
