Sometimes a fighter is just too tough for their own good, literally. A fighter has a will that can't be squashed and their pride is so strong they can will themselves to continue even when they should stop. It's a double edged sword where if they quit, they lose but if they keep fighting they could be badly injured.
At this moment Yoko's brain has been knocked up against the inner walls of her skull. She is feeling woozy almost like she had been drinking too much alcohol. If her stomach becomes upset that could mean severe brain trauma. Her body is weak and she can't think straight, all she has is her instinct that she MUST win. Her motor skills have gone to shit and her hands and arms are feeling shaky. As her vision begins to get foggy she becomes a risk where much more punishment could result in brain swelling or even brain bleeding which can lead to injury, coma, and even death. But her heart and her WILL demand that she keeps going and as the referee steps in she will still be angry when he stops the fight because if there were even the SMALLEST chance that she could even throw one punch that would brings Sierra's momentum to a stop she HAS to take it.
Sierra is as much a warrior... but she is a caring and compassionate woman. As crazy as it sounds while she is trying to drop her opponent... she doesn't want to see them HURT. She has found herself in similar situations where she had wondered if she should throw the fight for the safety of her opponent. Is a win REALLY worth a person's future or even their life? Sierra could never forgive herself if she ended Yoko's career or her life.
So Sierra looks at Yoko and think how she herself is sore and fatigue toxins are building up in her body. Her cuts sting and her lungs are trying to catch up on oxygen. Her heart is racing and adrenaline is pumping but running out. She knows the next morning she's going to be sore... so how does Yoko who has taken worse feel? On top of everything else Yoko must be feeling all that and then some as well as feeling somewhat defeated. Sierra watches for signs that Yoko might be hurt worse readying herself to go to one knee to wait out the ten count... but the referee has an important job. He knows what to look for and when it's too dangerous to let a fighter keep going and anything that gets past HIS eyes will probably be caught by the fight doctor ringside. But still... Sierra has seen cases where even with all of that happening they still were hurt. Some even die. So Sierra watches and wonders... willing to take the loss in the name of another person being saved. And when the referee waves his hands in the air she can finally breathe a sigh of relief that she didn't have to make that decision. Then she can go soak in an ice bath and wonder how much pain she's going to be in the next day.
