Thanks, but technically Powera and Olga Svenson are not part of Angel Falls. They would fit right in if they were.

Nice work.

I double checked and that mech doesn't have a human pilot.

That has to hurt. Shake off the headache, Olga!

A mech that weights a couple of tons getting swung at your head, that defintely hurts. I think Olga can rally back back from that blow from Powera.

Thanks Patrick, I love the shine on the suits as well.

I wonder if there is a dude in that police mech along for the ride? Great pic, I love Olga's expression.

I double checked this particular model and it is all computer controlled. Good thing there is not pilot inside or they would be in for one hell of a ride.

People seem to like the expression of a female character getting hit in the head, I wonder why? The other characters are Ultrawoman getting punched in the face by Soviet Superwoman and Soviet Superwoman getting shot in the face by Poison.

For me it's not just head, you could step on her big toe and I'd probably say the same thing.

Yep.

Olga is a player character in an Aberrant campaign that I've been running for around 10 years now.

10 years? She must be Pax or Mal's equal by then

Shag49931 In reply to Eludajae [2010-08-23 21:27:28 +0000 UTC]

Well, not quite that bad. None of my players are huge power-gaming munchkins who have spent all there XP on sprinting to high Quantum ratings and the most abusive higher-level powers or anything. They have spent a lot of points in diversifying their abilities, buying backgrounds that represent character development and things they've accomplished by role-playing.

Olga (and her fellow Player Characters) ARE a lot more powerful than your average Aberrant characters, thanks to years and years of XP. I once posted Olga's stats on a forum by request and one comment was "Olga CRUSH puny novas!". And there have been some conflicts between Olga and Cestus Pax.

The challenges they face are commensurate with their power levels though, and the world diverges quite a bit from the standard Aberrant world by now. The current storyline has them in conflict with a criminal conspiracy that spans multiple alternate timelines masterminded by aliens who consider themselves fallen gods.

Good to run into someone who knows what Aberrant is. Thanks for the comments (and for listening to me babble on about my campaign. )

I actually love the Aberrant game but never got to play it. I collected the books for a while until they went out of print.

It's such a rich world and I always wanted to play a super strong wrestling female from the XWF ^_^.

Shag49931 In reply to 00tree [2010-08-25 07:15:18 +0000 UTC]

It's indeed a cool campaign world.

And the XWF can be a fun background for a character. One of my PCs is an ex-XWF wrestler.

And the game system is delightfully unbalanced. Lets you have have a batman-level skill-based character and a nearly-cosmically-powerfully city smasher in the same group.

hotrod5 In reply to Eludajae [2010-08-22 22:58:13 +0000 UTC]

I have some time to talk about a project, but I can tell I don't have time in the immediate future. I got to finish a few pictures for contests and art jams. Hopefully I'm free at the start of September.

Actually, I have an outfit and I immediate thought of Ultraviolet, I just need some time to get that pic done.

You know, the tough thing with drawing fight scenes with Olga is the scale difference between her and the vast majority of her opponents.

Good job on making that work.

Given Powera's level of strength, and her medical knowledge to know where on the head to hit, that blow had to hurt!

Thanks for the piece, HotRod!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

hotrod5 In reply to Shag49931 [2010-08-22 21:25:00 +0000 UTC]

Thanks Shag. It took me awhile to get the right camera for this scene with the scale of Olga. I'm glad it got it right here. Maybe Olga needs to fight someone her own size, like Skyscraper.

Swinging a 15ft-20ft mech like a baseball bat and connecting at the right spot in the head must hurt. Poor Olga, but Powera is a big and strong genius who knows how to hurt people.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Shag49931 In reply to hotrod5 [2010-08-23 21:30:00 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, angles are tough in fights with such differing scales.

A more giant-scale fight would be a lot easier. But, a lot tougher on the surroundings.

(although, Olga did once have a throw-down with her trouble-maker protege XX-Elle once and managed to beat her with almost no damage to the city they started the fight in. It was tough on Olga, keeping the damage down, though.)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

hotrod5 In reply to Shag49931 [2010-08-24 11:46:32 +0000 UTC]

I would guess the immediate surroundings would take a beating during a fight involving Olga or other giants. Skyscraper is not that concern about her surrounds like Olga.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Shag49931 In reply to hotrod5 [2010-10-02 00:20:06 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, that would be the risk of the fight, collateral damage.

Which is why Olga would probably give Skyscraper a little speech the first time she endangers a bystander in the fight. "I guess you leave me no choice. I had hoped to bring you in gently and with minimal violence. But you've just shown the longer this fight goes on, the greater the chance you'll get someone killed. That's not acceptable. I'll have to be brutal and take you down fast and painful. I really am sorry, and I really wish I didn't have to do this. If it's any consolation, as an empath, I'll be quite aware of your pain. And you're pretty tough. I'm pretty sure I can avoid killing you. In which case, I'll pay for the hospital bill."

Then Olga would make her serious face.
