Description My Inktober theme is characters from my childhood.

The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap is another game I grew up with. Vaati is the antagonist of that game. The sketch for this was done in early 2017 and I inked it a few days ago (this will be the last one where I use an old sketch).

Story time. There's a spot by Link's bed in his house in Minish Cap where Ezlo (your talking hat homie) says that he senses a secret here or something. But there is nothing of note anywhere near there, except a ruppee that can be found right outside the house. So the assumption is that either the dialogue refers to the ruppee (which I doubt but idk), or there was supposed to be something there that was scrapped, and the devs forgot to remove Ezlo's dialogue. Drove me nuts. But I remember when I was little, I heard that in the European version of the game, you can dig by the bed and it opens up a secret dungeon. Completing the dungeon supposedly rewards you with a black sword, which is stronger than any other sword in the game. The rumor said that it was removed in the American version because the sword made the final boss too easy to beat, but they forgot to remove the hint dialogue for Ezlo. I remember I would try everything around that spot to try to get into the dungeon and I would think about the black sword a lot. I even pretended I had it sometimes when I was playing with toys and stuff. I researched it recently and not only is that rumor not true, but I couldn't find any references to that rumor at all on the internet. So I have no idea where I actually heard it from lol. I could have sworn that I saw it on a game forum but maybe my brother just made it up or something. I just wanted to share because I thought it was weird I couldn't find info on the rumor anymore.

But yeah, Vaati's cool. :3

Vaati belongs to Nintendo or Capcom or something, art is mine.

I love Minish Cap! I think they could not put half the ideas they wanted in this game, since it was a game to raise sales of GBA and could not take  too long to launch. The end of the game seemed to be halfway through, I always thought they wanted to do something more relevant in the end for Vaati.

Me too! That would make a lot of sense if that was the case. I think the game is awesome and creative the way it is, but I wonder what kind of an adventure it could have been if the developers had more time on their hands.
