I've designed this up as a Needlepoint canvas, but haven't painted the canvas yet. I like the little duckling because sometimes it a broody hen that hatches different bird eggs, and brings all kinds of different critters to her brood.

This is really cute. And I needed some time to spy the duck, nice

Yes I did put a little duckling tucked under her wing. I was going to title it Love is long suffering and kind, but I did not know if people would take in the humble hen and understand her good intentions. A hen will care for anyones eggs if asked. You are not seeing things, and it is a little duckling. I'm glad you like it!!!

I know that hens will take care of anyone, but I've always wondered if she'd try to keep the duck from water or if the duck would think it was a chicken and never try to swim...? do you know?

Ducks head for the water dish, and behave like all ducks from day one. Ducks love water...no matter who their mother is.
