Description 9" X 12" Prismacolor drawing of a Fox on Black Canson field book paper.

This drawing is based on the photographic work of fellow deviant *NestR and on the photograph with his permission of the fox

Nestr takes beautiful, very intriguing photos of birds flying into and out of very reflective, clear glass. He takes wonderful evocative portraits of people, and this fox actually hunts while he is around and likes to strike a pose. Check out *NestR and his interesting, and beautiful photographs, along with his paintings that take a different slant on this world.

I love Prismacolor they are made in Germany, have the most pigment, without alot of waxy buildup filler. Buy a couple of the colors you use regularly in PolyChromos Pencils and compare. It will be up to your eyes, and the strength you want the color to be. The other thing is buy a Prismacolor Pencil Sharpener, hand held, that is shaped like a torpedo on both ends. Don't use an electric pencil sharpener, but this one, and you will not break pencil points anymore. I love this little pencil sharpener, and bought a second one incase I lose my first one. The cost $3.99 at Aarons Brothers.

Bless you, and thank you for your quick reply.

Great information. Thanks for taking the time.

It is so hard to find the right pencil sharpner, isn't it !

Your Foxs are amazing !!!

Thank you, but it's the Canson paper because it's heavier, and feels good to work on. The Prismacolor or KohiNoir Woodless colored pencils are the best for me. I have a set of Derwent, but I just spent money on more of the Prismacolors because they are on sale and are so richer looking. I work in layers to get the tones I want. It's amazing how fast supplies can get used up when you are busy creating and having fun!!!

Now if I lost that much weight I'd be proud of myself, but to have it happen for no reason is not good. Take good care of yourself and I hope your diagnosis is not something dastardly. I hate illness, and I hate going to doctors. Don't push yourself too hard, but keep moving. May you be well very soon!

I love foxes, and I'm always surprised at how small, lithe, and delicate they look in person. However, they are fast, and the ones around here along with the coyotes and skunks, Opposums, and other critter are very fearless.

Take some of your photographs that you love, and do it while you are watching TV because if feels very therapeutic and it prevents me from being called anti-social. You are obviously not considered anti-social because you are with your models photographing and frolicking in the woods. I would be either painting in the studio, painting or drawing in front of the computer, or doing watercolors in front of the TV. Orrrr....? some other form of art work or work. The good thing about colored pencils is it is rather mistake proof, and very enjoyable to see what the layers of color produce.

indeed. I used to sit for hours working on image. Strathmore Bristol, prisma and Derwent mostly. Dip pen, crowquill and pure carbon ink..

I just did and it looks pretty good (my bad proportion judging skills aside)
