Description An anachronistic coat of arms for a Greater Bohemia that I started ages ago and only just got around to finishing. It shows the arms of all territories that formed a part of the Lands of the Crown of St. Wenceslas at some point in history. Clockwise from top left, they are: Moravia, Brandenburg, Lower Lusatia, Lower Silesia, Bohemian Palatinate, Upper Silesia, and Upper Lusatia, with Bohemia in the centre.
Bohemia ruled Lusatia from around 1315 to 1635, Silesia from 1335 to 1742 (bar a little bit that remains a part of Czechia today), the northern part of the Upper Palatinate from 1353 to 1373, and Brandenburg from 1373 to 1415, whilst Moravia continues to form a part of the modern Czech state.

As ever, comments and constructive criticism are welcome!

Are the keys of St. Peter reminiscent to Bohemia's status as a Catholic kingdom?

They're actually featured on the arms of the Upper Palatinate, all I really did was switch the Bavarian quarter for a Bohemian lion, so I'm not sure actually why they're on there! If you find out then do let me know!

The crossed keys are the symbol of Regensburg (Řezno), a free imperial city.

Np ^_^ Interesting (rambling) tidbit: Regensburg was the seat of the archbishopric (I think that's the title) that was responsible for Bohemia and Moravia for a long time until the one in Prague was created.

Well I suppose that explains why Karel IV was so keen to get a hold of it haha!

I assume so? Although he did swap it for Brandenburg so I guess maybe he wasn't all that keen after all...

Well Brandenburg was incredibly important. Not only was it a rich province that added more to the Czech Crownlands, it also gained him another vote from the imperial diet.

I mean this is true, one can hardly blame him! If he'd have kept hold of Brandenburg, Germany would be very, very different...

Very cool ^_^
Though it wasn't a kingdom at the time, the Bohemian dukes also controlled "Krakovia" and Red Ruthenia. And I mean it was a part of the duchy, not like when the later Czech kings held the throne of Poland. You might also say that Otakar II's adventure into Austria also added directly to the Bohemian crownlands. On the contrary, you might also say that the term and concept as such weren't coined until the Luxembourgs. Though that could be used as a direct counterargument too since one might say that the Bohemian crownlands were de facto lands ruled by the Czech king aka not a state unit but rather anything belonging to him. It's also worth considering whether Cheb/Eger should be considered as independent as its position as an integral part of Bohemia proper is debatable.

I'm glad you of all people approve! I did consider adding some representation of Otakar II's excursions in there but it's my understanding that it was more of a military occupation than a proper annexation per se? I mean you know waaaaaaay more about the history of Czechia than I do, maybe I should have consulted with you first before I did this haha!   But this is all good stuff to know for the future!

Also, the supporter lions should be crowned IMHO

I definitely wouldn't call it a military occupation, the lands were fully his, but I wouldn't call it an annexation either as that suggests a state and states back them didn't exist. They were rather defined by what belongs to a ruler and those individual holdings could also come with their own allegiances (for example King of England > also Duke of Normandy > thus vassal of France and we know how that went) So yeah, I'd call Otakar's excursion into the south legitimate gain of lands (though questionable means XD). Interestingly enough, he was *this close* to becoming HRE and if he had managed that, it's quite possible that the two Austrias at least (can't say about the rest) might have become a permanent part of the Czech Kingdom. Probably not Bohemianized but definitely further from German than they are now. But that's me rambling XD
Long story short: Wasn't occupation or annexation and I understand why you didn't include them

Haha I know what you mean about the weird pre-Westphalia middle ground, it's why I generally try to stick to things post 1648  (although tbh I have another thingy in the works that's pre-1648 so that's not going to well for me so far...)
I'll have a look at adding some crowns to make you happier haha

It's Duchy of Burgundy related. Actually there's an Angevin thingy too, but both are just ideas atm so don't hold your breath for them appearing any time soon (knowing me and my propensity to get distracted it may well be next decade). Whenever I do maps and arms that go together I always like to upload them together even though one might be done several months before the other haha
STOP SHOWING UP MY LACK OF RESEARCH

And I get what you mean XD I have so much shit started. Denmark related map, Hungary related map, India related project, ugh, so much XD

Huh? What? I ... errr >_> I don't know what you're talking about . . . <_<

I know right? I literally drew it out and then TiltschMaster uploaded his and I was like damnit! He beat me to it! Mine is more than a little different so it won't be a carbon copy haha
I have like 3 Hungary related things on the go at once atm haha   One of them has a really cool COA that I can't wait to upload but the map is holding me back because I can't get the colour scheme to look right
This India one sounds intriguing though!
Good! You saw nothing...

And cool :3
And colour schemes, ugh, don't get me started. You know I've been working on that Hungary map for almost a year now? But I'm constantly deleting bits because I hate them -_-

Thanks XD Might even be a collab with zalezsky if he ever gets his arse moving
