I was heading home from work and caught this guy just off the freeway at sunset...pulled over quickly...got a shot or 2 with my 100 mm lens, then quickly put on the 500mm lens and fired about 100 shots before he dropped off the hill and out of sight...Glad I took my camera to work today. I almost left it home...Related content

I had to turn it to black and white and then add a gradient because my 500mm lens has a horrible red halo lens distortion at times...Glad you like it though...I felt very lucky to see this guy. It's not often the big bucks come down in the valley.

I think you would want at least a 500 mm lens for wildlife...You can get some cheaper 500mm Mirror lenses that are fixed (not zoom) for pretty cheap at Adorama.com...I got my Tamron lens (200-500mm/f6.9) on Ebay for less than $100...NOt the greatest lens, but I could never have gotten this type of shot before...
