The Sound Of Silence - DA StatementSo Eclipse is Coming
I'd like to organize a proactive event to show DA the possible results of a permanent Eclipse change-over. Instead of deactivating your accounts for good, or indefinitely boycotting the site, I'd like to make a Statement of Silence for those Users against Eclipse. Starting May 1st, I will not be active on Deviantart. I will not submit new deviations, journals or even visit the site for 3 Days time. From 12:00AM CST May 1st to 12:00am May 4th. (3 days) I ask all other Users who wish to keep old Deviantart to join me in this statement of silence.
Not Only Is Eclipse Difficult to Navigate, It is so close to Plagiarism it isnt funny. How they aren't in a Lawsuit with Artstation is beyond me!

I plan on staying (because all my other art websites shut down) but I'll be darned if they don't keep that savior of a slider.
I won't post as often on the new DA, though, because it is really difficult for me to figure out.
Basically, users stay but traffic fails.
If they want us to remain active they should give us a choice and they should know this.

Furrylife.online is a good one, it's not dedicated to only furrys like the name suggests, is really strict on anything nsfw (doesn't show up on the front page whatsoever which is nice). I personally know one of the mods, and they're super helpful, and listen to their user base when adding anything new. Another one would be Artrise, which isn't out yet, but sounds amazing.

I’m staying on Eclipse
Keeping eclipse is forever required for me to operate on uploads.....
And I already know this....
But.....
A long sentence like that doesn’t even affect my doings....

"without we" looks more professional as "without us". 
About the rest, "we"... well, "we" are only a few of the 100 million daily visitors and users of this site. We have been vocal, very vocal over the past 18 months or so. As vocal as we possibly could as vocal minority. Which each update or announcement of "eclipse", we showed how much we didn't like it, or came up with, in our eyes, better, alternate solutions. Sadly, over time, nothing much changed "eclipse" wise. There was a green skin, and thumbnails got a little bit smaller. Visually it remained a badly designed website with a mobile skin (while 75% of the users are behind desktops), that works horribly on... mobile. (lol)
Anyway, I feel it is time to either bend with the changing wind and adapt or...

Well the thing is we’re avoiding it because we’re trying to get our point across. For the last few months or year ??? (Sorry don’t know the exact date but it’s been a pretty long time) people have been openly expressing their disgust for Eclipse. But since the staff can’t seem to get the message we (as in a lot of people) have decided to give them the silent treatment.

Huh? I didn’t read your complaints... oh. Of course. It’s that glitch that randomly turns my comments into replies. The ONE issue I have with the old site. And where does it pop up after not happening for a while? An anti-Eclipse deviation. Wow, reply glitch, very funny.
As for my idea of a second movement, well... it’s really just “everyone contacts the DA admins and tells them to keep old DeviantArt”. I believe that the profiles of the admins are our strongest connection with the staff, and not enough people are taking advantage of that. Maybe they’ll finally get it if they get a huge spike in notifications. Tens of thousands of notes warning of the negative effects of ditching the old layout.

Hm. Well, their inbox is where they’re most likely to see complaints about Eclipse, and if they only look there then they otherwise might not realize the scale of the backlash against Eclipse... deactivating for a while probably would be more effective, tho (more than logging out for 3 days, I mean). But I won’t do it myself, because I’d like to have as much time with the old site as I can while still doing SoS and I don’t really trust myself to not accidentally deactivate permanently.

Yeah i’ve tried it though it feels just wrong to me. I honestly hate that they’re trying to turn Deviantart into just a carbon copy of other art platforms. It feels like fricking plagiarism!

I’m saying the layout is similar, Eclipse is basically artstation except moved off a little to the side. I’m not talking about the banner i’m talking about the actual layout. And we’re not talking about function we’re talking about design.
