Description
I always enjoy trying new alcohol ink color combinations for my watercolor-style dragons. I usually pick the teal ink over regular blue because the teal is my favorite ink color, but I decided to feature the blue this time around. It blends beautifully with the purple and the white, which was a pleasant surprise - I usually consider the blue ink too weak to hold its own against my other inks. I decided to make this a water themed dragon, so I added finned wings and dark, pearly accents on the head and shoulders. I like the subtly different colors of the dots and would love to explore that idea in a future sculpt.
The octopus's name is Accidental Success Octopus. I wondered if I could make an octopus by cutting up a single piece of clay to make the legs... and it worked! Adding the eyes really brought out this cephalopod's charm.
Crafted from Premo polymer clay, alcohol ink, gilding foil, color-shifting and metallic pigments, and bugle beads. This dragon has been sold.
