The dwarfen Guild of Engineering is perhaps the greatest weapon of the Karaz Ankor, though also undoubtedly its greatest shame apart from, perhaps, Slayers, although those half-mad death dirge warriors are at least treated with respect for their bravery and skill. Then again, there are the rumors of so-called "Chaos Dwarfs" in the eas-- no. No, no, we don't speak of those. At any rate, the dwarfen engineers are famous around the world as purveyors of the technology that walks the fine line between thoroughly reliable and frighteningly outlandish. The guild is overseen by no-nonsense dwarfish elders of extraordinary austerity who treat any upstart with too much pep to their a proper talking-to. And if that doesn't work, there's always the dreaded "clogging" ritual. It's not what it sounds like.

This is Haldurg Spannerfist. As one might be able to glean from his frightening accoutrements and expression which is somehow simultaneously vacant and insane, he is among the many specimens of dwarf engineers who give his stern masters a great deal of anxiety.
