OK so how did you figure the tones for her hair? I can't seem to get the tones right for blond hair to save my life lol.

Sometimes you have to try what colour looks best, and there isn't a fixed rule or the right colour for certain things.
If you're really can't try out the colour you want, what i suggest is to find some photography or paintings from very skilled artists and blur the whole picture somehow in order to see the main trend of colours. Pick the colours from different side and see how does the tone, saturation and brightness changes with the changes of the light.
