I got the skin colors from that reference painting in my description. It's really hard to come up with those colors from imagination, but you know oil painting masters usually work with models.

I've seen the reference you used and I'm still impressed by the skin tones you used, since in your work (and in my humble opinion) there is a wider and richer variety of colors. I don't have a lot of knowledge about this subject, but I really admire artists that can use and integrate so many colors in a character's skin. I'm always amazed by how alive the characters can look when the artists play with lights, shadows and colors on the skin!

I think it takes a lot of life drawing/painting trainings to do that. One interesting thing is when I paint something from life, I tend to put a richer range of colors, but if I'm doing a study from a photo shown on the screen, I'm limited to the color range of that image.
