I've walked past this Mormon church with this historical marker hundreds of times in the four years I've lived in my current apartment (it's right on both the path between home and the stop for the bus to get to and from work and the most direct route to get to the nearest hiking trails) and never bothered reading past the title until yesterday. It wasn't just enough for Bloody Brigham to sucker a bunch of people into following him out west to escape prosecution for his crimes, he also had to create a walled compound to keep secret who knows what heinous things he was doing from the people he conned into accompanying him in his self-imposed exile.
