Pardon the language but this Jay seems to be saying "Fuck you, I knew winter was coming all along." Hence his body size.Â

The body shape makes me wonder how you'd handle a quail, especially with the little feather on the forehead. I like the folding technique that gets you soft edges rather than crisp, as it fits the fatness of a winter bird all puffed up. In general, though, I picture blue jays as a more slender, pointy bird. (Not to mention mean, but that's a difficult feature to fold!)
