Two tall blue buildings synonymous with Shanghai, the dark building looks a twisted licorice.

Why do you think so? "Shanghai(上海)" means "sail into the sea" because it is at the mouth of the Yangtze river.
The two blue buildings are the Oriental Pearl Tower(东方明珠电视塔) and the Shanghai WFC(上海环球金融中心).
The huge twisted building is the Shanghai Tower(上海中心), it is currently the second tallest building in the world. There are a lot of people talking about it's odd shape besides you.

Anytime Shanghai comes up in a travel show or documentary, those two buildings are most used as backdrops. Wasn't being critical, they're a boon for tourism. It's the colourful skyline you've captured that draws people to them.
