Out of all these characters, so far Blythe has been the hardest to draw, I was just trying to get the hang of it. Gave her a nose too.Still not sure on the colours though. That's what the scribbly righthand-side was for. Can anybody offer any advice on that? Blythe has a fairly bubbly attitude, but I wanted her clothes to still have the dark colours associated with a stereotypical witch.
I really wanted her to have green hair, but I feel like that colour (or at least the shade) might be giving me trouble with the rest of her design. Any suggestion to help with her eye/clothes colour (or clothing design)?

Yay! Blythe!
I've recently grown fond of witch characters, mainly after making a witch character of my own. (not on this account though)
Like the other two, Blythe is adorable, and of course looks to be a very fun character! Especially with those two tickle-gloves of her's.
For colors? I usually like bright and vibrant colors, so I would go for the right. I wouldn't know which side is darker though, both color schemes have a balance of light and dark.
But with left side is pretty darker, since the purple color of her outfit is more subdued. I maybe be late for the suggestion, but I think you should go for the right colors. Purple is more associated to witches, at least I think it is.
As for her hair, I think her green hair is very appealing! It goes well with her purple clothing, since both green and purple are associated with poison and evil, depending on the culture.
Of course I doubt Blythe is anything but evil or dangerous.... although her name is very close to "blight".
Anyways, a very cute design she has! I can't tell from this angle, but does she wear high heels?
Thought I would ask since you said she loves to stand on her tippy toes.

I think I'm gonna end up going with some shade of purple. I agree that it does seem to be associated with witches. It also just pops a bit more against her hair.
I never thought about how the green could be associated with poison. Her hair is actually green because I originally wanted her to have a plant-motif, and she was going to have more green colours on her design. I changed my mind before ever drawing her, though the green hair stuck.
She's not evil in the slightest. I actually got her name by looking words that mean "happy" or "joyful". She loves trying to make others happy.
And yup! Her boots have heels.

Funny thing, Lina's hair is green because I wanted her to look like a tree.
But I was originally going to color it purple just because.
Wasn't until I was coloring her the first time where I realized a joke I could make.
Oh, I do not get any evil intent from Blythe.
I just thought being a witch, she was raised to bring misery and mischief.
But with gloves like her's, and her cheery demeanor, that seems impossible!
And nice! Now she's always tall with those on!

Now I'm wondering, how often do Lina's friends make tree jokes? too often? not often enough?
Also I did have this sort of idea for the witches in this universe. That witches aren't evil, but instead are expected to be inherently selfish (So it is common for witches to do bad things out of selfishness). Blythe seeks to disprove that.
Though that's just kind of an extra thought. I might not go through with it.

Oh, they rarely make tree jokes.
Lina was teased a lot in her first school for being a "freak",
and when she moved, she dressed and acted tough to avoid being teased again in her next school.
She was often called a tree during school, and it's enough to set her off or hurt her really badly.
Her friends know this, and avoid teasing her like that. But they do from time to time, but it's all in good fun, and Lina can still make fun of herself. (Christmas Lina Tree for example)
Oh yeah? Well you don't have to put a lot of focus on it, but it can help give context as to why Blythe is so eager to help.
I have a witch character, but in my story, witches are a dying breed. With advancements in technology and medicine, the use for witches has began to dwindle.
And my witches bring bad luck to everything around them, as they suck in everyone's good fortune for their magic.

Aw, now I feel bad about even saying the tree thing. At least it's good that she has that relationship with her friends, where they understand her feelings about it, but they can still joke with each other occasionally.
Also, it sounds like it super sucks to be a witch in that world.

Yeah, it kinda does. My witch character hates that she's one.
Constantly flying town to town, finding a place to stay, but each time misfortune occurs to everything around her.
It follows her like a shadow.

I think the nose is a nice addition to her design. Kind of helps emphasize that she's a bit more human in appearance than Zu.
As for her color palette, I kind of like the one on the left, but that might be because the darker blue tone matches her eyes in the example.. So it's a toss-up. Though I suppose you could always give her multiple outfits rather than one permanent one if you're still experimenting with what color or style matches best.

Yeah, it's nice when characters have a bit of variety to work with. Summer wear, winter wear, magical research wear, etc.

I think your green would work better for you if you utilized it somewhere else in this design. Additionally, if you're using a sort of teal blue-green tone to the hair, you should have her purple be more on the reddish side so that we get that strong complimentary color being used. If you'd like more advice, I'd be happy to give it, but otherwise this is a cute design! Keep it up!

I'll also probably do some alterations with the outfit so I can have more touches of green. What do you think for eye colour? Should it be a similar shade to the green and purple, or should it be something more bright and vibrant?
