Here's a quick comic while I take a short break from Mass Effect Babies. The idea came to me when I got a surprising amount of push-back for pairing Ash and James together inΒ Amok Time .

... still hilarious and funny. Mass Effect's canon has always been a dubious subject at best once Shepard is involved, but I kinda liked how Bioware was trying to give squadmates chemistry instead of them rarely if ever interacting. I thought James/Ashley worked well enough for a fun little fling/get-together (though I'm a Shepard/Ashley fan so I rarely see it in my playthroughs).
All that aside I liked this a lot, and Ash's reaction is good for a laugh. Poor Vega, he should have taken a note from Garrus and realized that becoming an appendage of Shepard would get him a lot further with the ladies!

I personally LOVE the Ash and Vega pairing, and wish there was more of it around. I think they honestly work great together. I think this comic is pretty adorable too, because I could see Vega honestly doing something like that in a bid for her attention/trying to impress her.

As much as I'm alergic to anything Vega or Allers .. and the so called cannon side romances like Garrus-Tali / Ashley-Vega .. characters that deserved much more and the devs we're lazy to write for .. and of course since the only real cannon will always be Shepard and "someone" .. When it's all said and done .. Ashley-Vega pairing is never gonna please real Ashley fans (people who romanced her) but It sure can make them laugh
Regarding the .. surprising amount of push-back for pairing Ash and James together .. you know it's almost two years but Ashley haters, people who never romanced her, invested time in her character and some of the immature Shepard and other romances fans are still the majority in calling her rasist and keeping pairing her and tosing her down with the trash.
As I've said .. this is not gonna make Sheply fans happy but it's a fun stuff ..
For the record I've got to say that I love your Mass Effect Babies series and if you plan on doing the Shepard-(other than Liara) baby series, you are probably gonna end up the king of DA because as much as there is still hate for certain characters .. there is even more people who hate on the endings and are still dreaming about the one that is missing .. the happy ending. And you are gonna get a lot of love and supporters if you give them that.

I'm a loyal Ashley romancer, Ive romanced her faithfully throughout all my playthroughs. I happily choose her over Liara, Tali, Jack, and Miri and would do it again 1000 times over. To be honest, I personally and imo disdain the Ash/Vega pairing with a huge passion as I feel its just not in Ash's character to be with a dull "jock" like James. I get its all fun but to say it makes me happy is a understatemnet. But in regards to your comments about Ashley haters,I agree with your comment 110%. Ash haters have been around since the first Mass Effect, I mostly have learned to ignore them over the years because they simply don't get Ash like I do or like others do. I honestly don't understand why people hate her as they do and bash her character when I infact greatly enjoy her character and story arc. I wish more people could see that shes not really a racist or a xenophobic bitch but then again these are the same people who probably think Wrex is a great character when in fact Wrex is very racist. More so then Ash at least.

I was originally an Ash 'hater', I didn't bother to look deeper down because I never used her on missions. Once I did, I liked what I saw mostly because she was different than the rest of the crew and you could change her based on your responses (Not 'change', more like 'mellow'). I still generally preferred Kaiden because that's the kind of character I like, but once ME3 came around, Kaiden was still the same and Ash was far more interesting with better scenes.
Vega was the same for me, never used him, never wanted to. He was better once you got to know him, but he was STILL boring until the DLCs came out. I never really thought about Ash-Vega until this picture and I gotta say, they're really work together imo, especially the potential for comedy. I can't imagine Ash being with anyone else, maybe except Shep.
Garrus and Tali just feels lack-luster and tacked on, despite them being my two favorite characters, it'd be logical for them to be badasses together but I just can't...feel it. I see why people dislike the ending, but I can't get behind it. It wasn't a bad ending by any means, it just didn't live up to the hype. Reading the original ending before they had to change it is a much better ending, but what they have isn't the end of the world. That being said, I'm thoroughly enjoying this after-the-ending series, it's a nice relaxing closure.
