Don't be hard on yourself over failures. None of us are perfect. We are all working towards perfection. The real goal is to avoid becoming hardened in sin. You may stumble and fall thousands of times, but make sure that you always get back up. So often we say, "I have sinned again, I'm not worthy of grace," and because we do not ask we do not receive, and then we become more and more sinful.

The problem is that we are seeing God as a mean old judge rather than as our Heavenly Father. Don't think, "I messed up, I hope dad doesn't see." Say, "oh no, I messed up, I need my dad." And then run to your heavenly Father.

You may be frustrated, I am too. You may be angry with yourself, I've been there. You may be tired, and you may have fallen many times. You may even be embarrassed, only do not despair, but keep heart and courage, and keep fighting against sin. Go to confession and bear your heart out, seek wise counsel, read good books, and keep doing your prayers. It won't change over night but it will change.
