Today a young woman came into the store and was looking at our books. While I was at the desk I overheard her tell her mom that she really wanted to get Faint of Heart but she didn't have enough money, and her mom told her that they would come back when she had more money.
When they were checking out I told the young lady that I would sell the book to her for what she had on her, her face lit up and she ran to grab the book, and even hugged it. She thanked me over and over again while she was paying.
Her mom was surprised and asked if I was sure, well, I was sure. That book is a very good book, and the whole point of having a bookstore is getting to share the love of very good books with people. Frankly, seeing that young woman smile over a good book is worth more than all the money in the world.
