Smedley Butler was always someone who inspired me. Knowing he stood against the horror that is the military industrial complex makes me admire him even more.

Sometimes people think that being against the MIC means we don't honor the military. That's not true at all! There are many honorable men who have served their country. As with most nations, and most militaries, the problem is not the men in uniform, but rather the people behind the men in uniform. In America, this problem happens to be made much worse by the military industrial complex which President Eisenhower warned us about, and we should have listened.
