As Mandalore the Relentless, Tarre Vizsla ran a Mandalorian crusade against the Dark Side, immersing himself so deeply in the war against the chaotic Sith that he himself lost his way and lost everything, his fall pushing him away from his wife, daughter, and eventually even the Mandalorians. It took a brush with a cold and lonely death to remind Tarre what he was fighting for, to help him see the light.
As we see him above, he still struggles with his emotions, even as he trains a padawan in the Zabrak; Arexus Cade, but has grown from his battles and strife to learn the wisdom he had been missing. While things aren't quite the same, he is able to reconcile himself with his daughter first, and later his wife.
I imagine his death an honourable but lonely one, standing stalwart against an army as innocents flee, he would succumb to his wounds and die on his feet as the last of his foes fell and those he protected make it to safety. A little cliche, but that's the kind of story I like to write.
