I discovered this particular concrete wall on a Christmas day walk a couple of years ago. I have used various sections of it as textural backgrounds on a number of occasions. I love concrete as well.

incredible work. love the superimposition. not a quick association one would make there. definitely conceptual. im sure this throws open a host of interpretations and im guessing a tonne of deviants have already posted their perspectives

Actually, I think you're right, Jim...emersion is more the act of emerging (from within)...I wanted to express that these two opposites were so enmeshed as to become one...more of a melding deeper, than an emerging out of...hmmm.

But as I looked at it, one image would emerge and then the other depending on where my brain was going. I guess because there's a right brain image and a left brain image?

Yes, cement...my Christmas wall (I discovered it on a Christmas morning walk a couple of years ago, and have gone back to it recently for more segments)...and a rose from my garden.
