Description I love meadowlarks. They are one of my very favorite birds. Meadowlarks always seem so happy and cheerful and will often sing loudly even when it's raining or snowing outside.

This guy was perched on top of a tipi pole for one of the tipies at the park, singing his heart out. When I saw the photo on my computer later after I shot it, I was reminded of the story of Sitting Bull, the great Hunkpapa Lakota leader, who was told by a meadowlark five years before it happened that he would be killed by his own people...

Hi, I really like this photo. Is it ok if I use it in a powerpoint for my school project? I'll put you in the citations/credits page, and I won't modify the picture at all (except maybe crop it in order for it to fit).

I have a bias in favor of Meadowlarks for another reason... I was born in Kansas, and the Meadowlark is the Kansas state bird. I do not know her song though. Did this beauty tell you anything?

The same thing they always tell me, "It's a wonderful day to be alive!"

This is a gorgeous photo...full of life & music.
It looks as if this birdy is sitting on top of the poles of a teepee.

If it had a secret message to tell you I think it was a very good one.
