I decided to start doing the speech bubbles completely digitally because I was suggested and I thought it would be a good idea (before only text was digitally made + speech bubbles were made white digitally).. that took some time.. I have some learning to do with that and getting use to...I hope you can read the 4th panel speech bubbles in right order? ^^'
Poor Blue.. everyone has lied to her and not told the whole truth to her.. she doesn't seem too happy about it...
oh and to clear up how come he thinks lupines worship darkness -> they think moon is sacred->have weird celebration ritual during full moon at night->they must be worshiping darkness.

but yes, basically the leonine culture (not all feline ones) is more similar to europeans and romans and the leonine culture to native americans. I've gotten inspiration from many cultures though, but those are the main ones for lupines and leonines :d

Wow, he really has a high opinion of us Lupines. Makes me feel all cool, they think we worship darkness and drink blood, we sound pretty badass the way he says it.
Of course in reality we worship a space rock and almost all of us are head punchingly stupid. Cept for me of course!

they are not thought to be much more value than animals so it is not a terrible crime to kill one. :c (though in my opinion killing, even an animal for no reason and without a proper purpose is wrong/I despise it) 'Funny' how during old times that was often the case "the more civilized" took the right to brutally kill "not so civilized" people, even civilians. Many so called barbaric tribes had their traditions that might have made them 'barbaric' in the eyes of the others.. and I do agree I'd be creeped out if people I know would hunt during full moon and eat raw heart of the prey..it would only be because of my different culture and what I'm used to, they would not be any more evil than someone who kills a deer, brings it home and cooks it and eats it. After all the most basic morals were not broken in either case, no torture, abuse etc.

if i find oput people i know do that, i would be kinda creeped out, but if people from other country, tells me that they do that, i wont be so creeped..... as you said, cultural stuff,
just a quick note, the heart is a muscle, "almost" like any other muscle in the body of an animal that we eat, and eating it, cooked, or prepared wont look too much as a creepy act, but eating a heart, raw, and during a certain moment of the year...... thats..... something a lil more hard to explain xD
agree, eating meat from an animal, is totally cool, but only if its for a good reason AND must use and save as much as you can, from it, otherwise i would think its been a waste of a life, i think its more than undestood that the kill must be as painless as possible, i think thats the least thing we can do after we are taking his life from him...

and agreed about the waste of life part, since we are well 'one of the smartest' animals i think we are somehow obligated to think of what our actions cause and make sure we cause no unnecessary suffering + I guess it is good for us ..to keep our conscience healthy.

He is an adviser of the king, all of the leonines around the fortress like Blue or at least think she is alright girl and his father loves her even his actions seem to point otherwise. Blue has lived with the leonines quite a while so she is now one of them.
Maybe he was surprised because Blue admitted so casually that she loves a lupine and not so much because of her fathers reaction, but her fathers reaction is also surprising because he rarely rises his voice (as seen from the last page he was quite calm and polite)

I would really say that he reminds me of Athen right now. Their hubris became enough to see all others as barbarians and pretty much, they started so many wars that they caused their own downfall.... I doubt that the Leonines will be spared from this fate. A path paved with blood and violence will only lead to one end. And this end is Nemesis. (I'm getting a little bit poetic right now, aparently).
But do Lupines drink blood for ritual purpose (which might not be so bad, since it's the lunch's blood anyway)? I know about raw meat and darkness might refer to the moon, but about this I could need a clue.

oh and forgot to respond to your question, they do drink blood in small amount during the full moon hunt (only situation where they eat raw meat, the heart) but mostly they 'eat it' having to drink it as they eat the heart raw during the ritual xD His father concluded drinking blood from that and from the fact they hunt using their teeth and bite to the neck where the big veins are.. but they really don't suck blood when they do that.. sometimes the blood is collected and used as a ingredient for food but then it is usually cooked and not eaten raw then (like blood pancakes and sausage for us) but they don't drink it that much, only in ritual purpose in small amounts.
and it is not bad, if you kill animal.. and eat it.. does it matter what part you eat in my opinion. some parts might be kinda gross but that is a cultural thing and what we have gotten used to that makes certain parts "ew" it certainly does't make them evil or barbaric.. but Rex here, the leonine, doesn't seem to agree with that
