Description Here is the finished sketch!!! Really pleased with theye, pulls the whole drawing together. The neck was meant to be powerful but not very detailed ecause it would take away from the face where the emphasis is supposed to be

Great detail here. Awesome sketch. The muscles and the shading look nearly perfect. If you softened the harsh lines, it would look a lot better. You can get soething called a tallion or something like that. It looks like a rolled up piece fo paper and they sell them at art stores. It softens lines and shading and makes shading look more like fur and lines look more like shadows.

The details in this, even if they are done with "crazy lines", are amazing. I think, in this case, the use of unrefined lines in an outline of such a disciplined, controlled, collected animal could be a way of showing that he is still capable of amazing displays of energy and spirit just like any other, but has chosen to allow himself to be a part of an equestrian masterpiece. Excellent work.

its really nice, you have the size and structure perfect for a stallion, why dont you try drawing with graphite sticks, you can then use cotton wool or cotton buds to smudge the lines that you use for shading, it will turn the lines into a smooth equal surface! another technique to fill spaces that need shading is to get a knife and scrape sown the side of a graphite stick and then get some cotton wool, dab it in the graphite dust and then smudge it into ur paper... works a treat! really nice picture... i am a great fan of horses and think you have done this horse justice!

nice work! i agree with drafterx on the crazy lines lol(it does look nice on small view though) but the style works for you. i also think the ear looks a tad funky. tis perdy!

This looks very good far away, then I full viewed it. Your lines are every wich way. I don't know how much effort you put into this, but it could be a real nice piece. It just look like you scribbled your horse all one color, and then added in the lines from the muscles and bone structure. You have such an excellent outline, but the way you shaded makes it look like you didn't really care. If you went over it again it would be an amazing piece. Use shading to form your mucles, don't use lines. You want to form the body, not draw it with lines. But, very nice overall.
