It's not often that I enter art competitions (or competitions of any kind, for that matter) as I usually find voting to be based on popularity rather than talent.
Yes, I was beaten once by a vastly inferior and rather retarded piece of work and, yes, I am still bitter.
But when I do enter a competition, rare as it is, it is usually Bionicle related. So I've entered a new one today, with the theme being deep-sea related, and here are the results.

It's quite a small piece; although I didn't realise this while I was working on it. It's the first thing I've ever drawn straight into Photoshop without scanning a pencil or pen image first, and It's come out very well!
Theres a few issues with perspective and, as per usual, my background isn't up to much, but it's good otherwise.
My only gripe is that the colours were originally far more vibrant than this and looked, in my opinion, better. But, to add some sense of depth, I've had to mask them with dark blue. Never mind - I still think it's cool!

This is incredible! I only entered for participation's sake! I can't freakin' believe it!
And now, I find, my faith in competitions has been restored. Well, nearly. If there was any real justice in the world Bohrok Kal of Death would have won for his awesome 3D modelling. In fact, quite a few of the other entries should have kicked my arse. But at least this proves it's still possible for an unknown to go the distance - it's not based on popularity at all!
Anyway - it's first thing in the morning and I've not had breakfast and now I'm all hyper. I'm gonna go calm down

Of course, there is still one vital question left to answer - and that is which wobbly-headed Turaga I will recieve as my prize. I don't really care - all I wanted was a place in the finals...
