Description This is a Dragon Age: Origins fanart of the semi-bosslike darkspawn called an Ogre. If you haven't played the game yet I recommend it!

This is the first drawing i've ever actually tried seriously shading. The first time I used a blending stump/tortillion/tissue paper, so it was highly experimental but I think im starting to get a grip on it.

Materials Used:
.5 mm mechanical pencil loaded with HB lead (the only lead I used because i haven't tried any other as of yet..)
Tortillion
Tissue Paper
Q-tip

Reference: [link]

It took me approximately 15 hours? Not sure exactly but it was done in a span of about 8 or 9 days.

I hope anyone who views it likes it as much as I liked drawing it! And if anyones interested I can post WIP's otherwise I wont bother.

If I learned anything about drawing, and trying to actually make it looks nice, that would be -patience-!

Thanks for looking!

man, the only good advise i can give you on that is practice, practice, practice! for me it also really helps to watch dogs up close to see how they move in real life to try and get that movement and energy onto paper. and if the drawing isnt going so well, i can always growl at ti. that usually makes me fell a bit better. keep up the awesome work! i cant wait to see some more!

this is super amazing camo! there's not just one artist among our breed of friends-- keep them coming dude! we got to get you some more pencils from 9H to 9B because i think you can do some serious damage with a wider range of lead.

Man you have no idea how much that means to me coming from someone as good as you, seriously, its a freakin honor! Oh man yeah I think me and you should get together and hit up michaels or something. Thanks so much for the comment!

no prob dude! yes, we need to hit up an art store or browse around dickblick.com. you should setup a wishlist account with dickblick.com actually.

as i have always said, the more artists we have the less dull and boring this planet becomes so i always encourage people especially my friends to be creative!

That's great!
Have you ever tried to draw with softer pencils? I mean, 4B, 6B etc?
You can make darker areas with them.

No not yet I actually went to the store to get some and ended up buying more freakin HB lol! Yeah I was really struggling with the darker areas as the lead I was using just couldn't cut it. Thanks for the compliment also!
