Description
A young Growlithe with shining (e/c) orbs stared up at the night sky, admiring the glowing stars. She loved stars, they were so pretty.
She sat patiently, listening to the gentle breeze that ruffled her orange fur.
She was lonely sometimes. Trainers always tried to catch her, but she felt as if they wouldn't treat her right. That they would just use her, then throw her away. She didn't want that.
So she was waiting. Waiting for a Trainer that would love her and care for her forever. Someone who wouldn't abandon her.
A rustle drew her attention, and she turned her head to look to the right, behind her.
A man in a green jacket stepped out of the tree line, light brown hair a bit spikey and emerald eyes bright. He stared at her for a little, and she simply turned back to the sky. She didn't want any trouble with him. She just wanted some peace.
She listened to his footsteps approaching, but didn't bat an eye. She continued to observe the stars, taking note of the bright ones, the dull ones, the flickering ones, and the shining ones. They were all beautiful.
She turned when the man sat down next to her. She looked over him, and he stared up at the sky. He made no move to catch her or touch her or even acknowledge her. She kept staring at him, and began to think that he was a bit handsome.
He smiled and turned to her. "It's really pretty, isn't it?" He asked, and she wagged her tail once. His smile grew to a grin. "I think so, too."
She flicked her ears. His voice was a little deep, and very rich in tone. Lovely.
She looked back up at the sky, searching for the brightest star. When she saw it, she barked. The man turned to her.
"What?" He asked, and she pointed her nose at it. His emerald eyes glanced around, but he couldn't find it. She barked again.
"That one?" He asked, pointing to the right a little. She got an idea then.
She grabbed the sleeve of his jacket with her teeth, tugging lightly so as not to rip it. He moved his arm with her as she pulled, and she stopped when his finger was aligned with the star.
He stared for a minute, then smiled. "Ah, the North Star." He dropped his hand. "My favorite."
She barked, and he turned to her. "Yours too?" She wagged her fluffy tail. He nodded.
"You're a pretty unique Growlithe." He smiled, holding out his hand. She sniffed it, then rubbed her head against it. He smiled and began to pet her. "You're smart and sweet."
After a minute of petting, she crawled into his lap and curled up. He smiled and stroked her warm fur softly, closing his eyes as well.
"You're so cute. Would you like to come home with me?" He asked quietly.
The wag of her tail was all he needed.
