Description
--Here between these mountains, we live, we die.
From the day we are born, we’re ingrained with the idea that the world outside these surrounding impassable mountain ranges is an unforgiving wilderness. Ravaged by the elemental war and the resulting fallout of impure magics, there would be nothing but death awaiting beyond. But sometimes you can’t help but to wonder... Is there something more out there? Strange creatures? Otherworldly vistas? Other humans?
Ever since King Farlon closed off Lux Aeterna centuries ago after the First Elemental War, nobody is allowed to come in, and nobody but the highest caste of officials are allowed to go out. They still say it’s for the good of human race, but I wonder. The only way for us common folk to know is to leave everything behind and be exiled, but few are willing to give away their lifetime of peace for the sake of heading to the unknown.
Not many seem to even care that much anymore. We go on our lives, farm our fertile lands, become craftsmen or tradesmen, practice our light magic... Our life is decent. I guess there's really nothing more to ask for.
When did we become so apathetic?

What do those symbols represent that are carved into the stone?

To be honest, I haven't thought out the actual meaning beyond "lines regarding or describing this place" or even just particular people carving their names into the stones and whatnot.
This place would be one of the prayer or magic practicing spots on a higher cliff/ridge, to which the last rays of sunlight for the day peek through from between the gaps between mountains in the west. Places where you can bathe in the last light of the day. See Map - Land of Light (first draft) for some idea of the geography behind this phenomenon. This picture would show one of the spots on the southern side of that inner ring-shaped ridge.

I wish I could absorb the powers of just someone who is at least a little good at writing. Heck, I'd even settle for just having English as a mother tongue. I have this large story I'm proud of in an orderly chaos inside my head, and I have struggles trying to convey it well enough. At least I can get it out little by little through the visual side, but I always feel like "this is not enough".
