First time using Illustrator. Didn't know that vectoring was so different in Illustrator than in Photoshop.. I think I prefer Illustrator though. Its nice to zoom in and have your project be clear. Anyway, this is just the line work (ignore any overlapping paths; they won't show up in the final stage). Any tips or suggestions? I'm gonna start putting in the base colors when I wake up, so it would be cool to wake up to some good ideas before getting to work on it.Related content

Those are some really good vectors man! They look effortless, like it just comes natural to you. I like them a lot, and I enjoyed looking at them. Again, nice job!

I wish I had had a good teacher.. Unfortunately, I was the one teaching my high school computer art teacher. She didn't even have a degree in that field. She knew fine arts, but not anything to do with computers. I showed her the clouds filter.. And she was in awe. I agree about vectors, just taking color steps to make a gradient of sorts. I love the effect. And I love the lack of mess, haha

I love the result so far! Sunburst finishes are my favorite finishes so I think the result is gonna be really great!

I've taken a break on this for awhile, gotta work on something for my high school's art show before I graduate, so I'm vectoring/painting a picture of me playing my acoustic in Photoshop. Learning a new "medium" I guess you could call it.. Digital painting with my Wacom tablet. I love this thing, haha

I'd love to see an update on your progress on this one! Sweet linework, i've never used that method when creating something vector, ive always just painted "ontop" of a real image. Gonna have to try this one out

This was actually the first time I've used this method. I always do what you just described, paint right on top of an image. I like that method more, the linework is kind of harder, and for some reason I find Photoshop better for vectoring. I'll try to update my progress, but right now I'm taking a break from this project. I just get bored with them sometimes and this is a time where I'm bored lol. But thanks man.

Yayz very nice. Too bad I'm a little late with the advice... I was going to suggest making it like Zakk Wylde's guitars- they are very cool looking (yeah I know they are Epiphone but still...)

Actually, he has some Gibson models that are exactly the same. Just more expensive. A lot more.. But it's not too late of advice. Since it's all in illustrator, it's not too hard to change things. Right now, though, I'm working on giving it a simple a sunburst finish. I'll post my progress after awhile!
