It actually went through so many different designs and compositions so arriving here was tough but worth it I think.

Ahh thanks!! I found this tutorial that said you should use cyan to shade warm colors and pink to shade cool colors and it actually looks really cool!! I'm gonna do that from now on

Yeah!! I actually finished the first chapter last year but I decided to reboot it and do some more work on the comic... I've made some changes to the designs and also the script. I'm going to be using everything in Baum's book but I'm also adding a few things: some references to later books and characters, and also some original scenes/ bits of dialogue that will clear up parts that Baum left out.

Thank you so much!! I was going for a Van Gogh sort of feel actually, and purposefully left in the lines and stuff like that (didn't blend colors completely). I feel like the style sort of works and I might actually work like that from now on . u .

I feel like he's actually from Quadling and that's why he has a pink color scheme... he probably migrated to Munchkin country when the giant spider arrived in the southern forest and destroyed his family. omg I think I know his backstory XD

Really? Does it have to do with the way that people design them, or what?
Haha yeah I added tags for Glinda but she's not in the piece. I just added that tag because she's a central character in the story and so she's indirectly related to this.

Not sure really. I think it is because you need to balance originality with recognisability. It is boring to always bring up film design and stupid, but same thing happens when you go totally of note, extra dark and sexual.

Yeah I agree with you totally! Some people make it too... dark, too horrific, and also tend to sexualize it too much like you said. It's also annyoing when they just draw the mgm version instead of their own design. The story is so unique and the characters are so cool that it's a shame that they just cop out of doing something fun and original.
