Just realized I never posted this, and I like how it came out, so...*If anybody is going to model it, I need credit as the character artist.
Also, I would love a Maya file or .obj so I might rig and animate it. I would give the modeler credit of course^^

As long as I could get the files from whoever models it, so I might rig and animate it, or something. Do I keep my rights to the character? Do I have to join the group? I don't know how it works...

You can set whatever terms you like and no you don't have to join the group.
Bear in mind that the more terms you set the less likely someone will use it though, depends how much they like the design
