Shit, that is one hell of an accurate cosplay. I also must admit that though it is not my cup of tea in animes, I have to admit that it is a huge guilty pleasure. I was introduced to it by a friend of mine in college and I can see why she loves it so much. If I had to pick a favorite angel though, I would have to say Wizard. Shirahime being a close second.

Thank you ^^
There are a lot of interesting designs in AL, sadly as this is quite old anime and never was super popular, I was unable to get more people to cosplay from it. (at least in Poland, when I see how many cosplayers are in US I get jealous. I can't find anyone who made this or that costume for some group photos, and then I see there are 3 of them in the US... or more X"D)

Well, it was an anime that was originally made by Clamp, and save for maybe their collaboration with Sunrise for animating the popular "Code Geass", and their originals such as xxxHolic and Tsubasa, they never really had a whole lot of popularity. Usually it is big name studios whose works dominated the anime world such as again, Sunrise and especially Shonen Jump and Studio Madhouse, whose works get a lot of exposure. Then again, Clamp has a lot less works and a lot less people working for it compared to the latter few who are giants, so it is understandable why it was never really well known. Clamps works are also well known for not getting a whole lot of non-mixed positive reviews, so that does not really help it much in putting them on the radar. Angelic Layer was no exception. It has it's upsides, yes. Many of them was in the artistic style as well as having a well constructed storyline, but to many, those elements were eclipsed by the idea that it was just a cutesy version of Pokemon, Digimon, and Yu-Gi-Oh! all over again with extra emphasis on friendship. Many are sick of those elements and in their defense, I can understand why it was not well received. It is something I think should be given a chance though.

The thing is CLAMP is still quite popular here. People still love chobits, Tsubasa Chronicle, Cardcaptor Sakura and more. But AL was one of the few that was here a bit, and was forgotten quite fast...
The market in Poland is really a lot smaller than US, and maybe the fact we have 4 titles published and even one artbook (super rare) made it so popular in here. But then I have to choose to make a cosplay from something that was not published... eh...

That is true, the market is vastly different here than it is there. Does play a big role in that.
