I've had the opportunity to photograph a bird that hit a window once. It was a blue jay. It died on impact, though.

<3 My Dad hit a hawk once with the car when I was 9 or 10. We were only going 10 or 15 mph, but I still thought the bird died so when Dad stopped the car I jumped out and went to look. The bird was sitting on her butt with her wings held away from her body, her beak open and panting, and her feet splayed out in front of her, and her tail behind her. She had a 'WTF' look on her face. I edged closer to her, telling her I wasn't going to hurt her, and just as I reached down to grab her and pick her up, she jumped to her feet and flew away. "She was just stunned," dad said. Too bad I wasn't into carrying a camera everywhere with me when I was that young, XD

Yeah! I saw it and I almost thought it was fake!
It fluttered over to a nearby tree, so I think it was just confused or stunned.
