Description I love this film! I actually managed to draw this from memory.
It came out quite good!
And for those who don't know (why?) The Great Mouse Detective is an awesome Disney film. Go and check it out!

Just one very quick note: his red armchair has a higher backing than this. I had been curious to find a duplicate Victorian chair, but it has been extremely impossible. Your memory serves you very well on Basil; this is beyond an excellent rendition of him. You captured his look, pouty expression, clothes and body all wonderfully. Very good work on drawing his violin, too. That is so difficult to looking like the real thing. I like this very much.

Thanks! I think the armchair was actually very different from this one...
And about the violin... I had practiced drawing them before so it was quite easy. I'm just sad that I can't draw Dawson...

I always had visions of a villain sitting in the red chair more than a hero. The backing is so high, if it were black, it'd fit perfectly in the home of Count Dracula!

Oh, that's good about the violin! Dawson, on the other hand, I can sympathize. I've drawn him, but I never feel one hundred percent satisfied. I can never get him to look just right.

This is really good if you drew this from memory. I tried doing that, but I came out with a morphed out Basil. Amazing job here, shading and all.

Thanks! I watched the film a night before I drew this so I had kind of "memorized" his face by accident... Same thing happended with scar from lion king... It must be the nose...
