and is Sakon's scar easy to see?
also added the branches in the back to give it some dimension. I like how it came out. do you?
(will do another one with SW chars. which three should I do? I'll pick the three that are my favs from you guys)

Masamune defiently. As far as animals go I usually use a lion for Nobunaga, a monkey for Hideyoshi, a tiger for Shingen. I'de like to see something cute for Kanetsugu

realized this was on DA and came to comment here finally.
you did a really good job on Sakon as a hawk, bird faces aren't easy, especially the eyes of birds of prey, it's so hard to get that expression right.
but I'd have to say, Yukimura always struck me as a dog of some sort, something about his personality, the fierce edge his loyalty seems to have is part of it. I always saw Mitsuhide as a horse, also Keiji, but of a different type (wild, what else? lol).

ah yes, reference is a big thing with animals. I only just started venturing into drawing birds, but thus far I only have two examples posted here. good luck with your next pic in this series ^^
